Triumph of the People: How the Villagers of Narok Outsmarted the Regime’s Roadblocks
Narok Town, Kenya
Today, the cowardly and brutal regime thought they could silence the voice of the people. Clear instructions had been issued to the police: block Rigathi Gachagua and his entire entourage from entering Narok Town to campaign for our Democratic Congress Party (DCP) candidate for Narok Ward, the formidable Hon. Douglas Masikonde.
They deployed roadblocks. They brought teargas. They brought stones and bullets and all the instruments of intimidation that a panicked dictatorship clings to when it senses its days are numbered.
But they forgot one thing: you cannot block a villager in his own village.
I am a son of this soil. I grew up walking these paths, herding cattle under the same sun that shines on Narok today. When the police sealed the main roads, I turned to my fellow villagers — the real owners of this land — and asked for their guidance. Quietly, calmly, they showed us the ancient footpaths, the hidden trails through the bushes that no uniformed officer from Nairobi will ever find on their GPS.
And so, while the regime congratulated itself on its “security operation,” we walked. We walked with purpose. We walked with the spirit of our ancestors. And when we finally emerged into Narok Town from the back routes, thousands of jubilant DCP supporters were waiting — singing, ululating, waving our party colors, and reminding the regime that the people are not its subjects.
How can you beat me at my own game?
This was never about one man. This was about the unbreakable will of a people who have decided that enough is enough. The youth of Narok stood tallest today — fearless, determined, and clear-eyed about the future they want. They looked the teargas canisters in the face and said: “Not today. Not ever again.”
Mark this date: 27th November 2025. The by-election in Narok Ward will not be decided by police trucks, blood money, or hired goons. It will be decided by the sovereign will of the people — and that will has already spoken loudly today.
No amount of brutality will cow the people of Kenya. No amount of state capture will turn our Republic into a monarchy. Kenya is bigger than any one family, bigger than any one regime, bigger than any dictator who mistakes public office for a birthright.
To the great people of Narok — especially the fearless youth who received us with open arms — asanteni sana. You have proven once again that a united people are stronger than all roadblocks, stronger than bullets, stronger than teargas, stronger than any high seas or hired mercenaries.
The villagers have triumphed.
The people have triumphed.
And on 27th November, the ballot will seal that victory forever.
The will of the people shall never be subverted.
Long live the people of Kenya!
Long live democracy!
Long live DCP!
Hon. Rigathi Gachagua
Former Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya
Leader, Democratic Congress Party (DCP)
